I have a 2000 disco ii td5 that has developed a leaking front sun roof.
2000 land rover discovery 2 roof leaking.
For some bizarre reason land rover make a metal drain channel then attach plastic boxes to allow the rubber tubes to attach.
Its a feb 99 tdi last of the series 1.
2000 land rover discovery ii engine problems with 9 complaints from discovery ii owners.
The worst complaints are engine and engine cooling vehicle speed control and engine.
I removed the glass took the rubber seal out and cleaned in fully.
I m trying to figure out if maybe the air conditioner is leaking or if its only happening due to the recent rain very early stages of the wet season up here in darwin.

Some have also reported a leak from the roof gutter area the join where the roof.
Apparently there are a number of possibilities for leaks that was why i took out the headlining and left it out for 2 months to satisfy myself as to where the leaks were in my case between the sunroof frame and the vehicle roof.
Any land rover discovery owner who has a model fitted with sunroofs will at some point have sunroof issues and find that smelly wet carpets and lots of condensation on the windows are quite the norm lots of people seal up the sunroof s with silicon sealer which stops the leak for a while until the silicone shrinks or comes unstuck from the seal or the glass then the water starts leaking in.
The alpine windows are bonded in the d2 but i suppose they can still leak.
And rebond them to the roof leaks are rarely due to the seals and more often than not due to failed or crap from the factory bonding of the frame with the roof.
I took the sunroof off in the summer to try and fix it but it does not seem to have done the job.
As well as leaking through the winder my roof was leaking where the drain tubes attach at each side.
I then sat it back on a bead of silicon sealer.
